Springtime Forest

Ceramics is a relatively new passion for me, which allows me to to express my love of nature. I've used the handbuilding method to create this multidimensional vessel. A patterned and carved background, with applied trunks, branches and hundreds of clay dots representing leaves, gives the illusion of depth. The layering of washes, underglaze and a top glaze bring the piece to life.
