This relief monoprint is made with oil based inks on Stonehenge 100% rag paper. The image uses organic forms such as foliage, seaweed, cracks in the earth layered with a topographical map pattern. The predominance of greens, yellows and turquoise along with the crowding of patterns is meant to create a feeling of overgrowth, where an overabundance of plant life such as algae can lead to harmful levels of CO-2 in the environment. My intention is while making a pleasing image to draw the viewer in to contemplate these concepts and maybe work toward creating a healthier planet. Beauty can sometimes "mask" what is really happening...
